Ukraine marks 31st Independence Day
August 24, 2022Six months ago today, Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine. For six months, Ukrainians bravely resisted this aggression and fought back for their independence.
This year’s celebration of the Independence Day of Ukraine echoes globally the meaning and the cost of freedom and truth. Today, Ukraine stands upright in the face of history to defend humanity’s fundamental principles. As they celebrate their 31st Independence Day, the EU Advisory Mission (EUAM) Ukraine wishes all Ukrainians two things: victory and peace. We will stand together with you and continue to support Ukraine’s move towards becoming a full member of the European Union.
