Senior German forensic expert shares experience with police from across Ukraine

The European Union Advisory Mission (EUAM) yesterday carried out a seminar for the heads of forensic police units from all regions of Ukraine, with demonstrations from a leading German forensic expert.
Mrs Aumann, Senior Detective Chief Inspector from the German Federal Criminal Police Office, was invited by EUAM to share her practical experience in examining crime scenes and EU forensic standards, the extraction of fingerprints, and security measures during work with DNA. She also carried out a number of practical exercises for her Ukrainian colleagues to observe.
The seminar was hosted by the National Academy of Internal Affairs in Kyiv. Cadets from the Academy were therefore able to take advantage of Mrs Aumann’s visit. In fact, she dedicated the second part of her seminar to the students – the future forensic experts of the National Police of Ukraine.
