EUAM statement on appointment of Serhii Knyazev as Head of the NPU

The European Union Advisory Mission (EUAM) Ukraine would like to offer its congratulations to
Serhii Kniazev on his appointment to the post of Head of the National Police of Ukraine. This is a challenging assignment of high importance for Ukraine, and EUAM looks forward to establishing a close partnership with him. For its part, the Mission remains committed to offering its further assistance and advice, so that reform of the National Police continues under the new leadership. We are encouraged that Mr Kniaziev emerged from a competition that was open and transparent, and welcome the decision of the Minister for Internal Affairs to conduct the selection in this manner, which is also in line with EUAM recommendations.
