Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine creates Human Rights Unit with EUAM support
At a meeting with experts from the EU Advisory Mission on Tuesday 23 May, Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of the Interior Tetiana Kovalchuk announced that the Ministry had set up a dedicated Human Rights Department. This is the first department of its kind within Ukraine’s Ministry of the Interior and the structure, tasks and staffing of the new body follow many recommendations made by EUAM.

A communications conference organised by the EU Advisory Mission today is bringing together senior officials from the Ukrainian government, policy makers, journalists, civil society representatives and communications professionals to discuss the state of play in government communication and solutions to current challenges.
EU Anti-Corruption Initiative (EUACI) | Call for Proposals – Ukrainian Registered CSOs

This call for proposals is a part of the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative (EUACI), implemented by Denmark, DANIDA  The EU Anti-Corruption Initiative (EUACI) overall  objective is “to improve the implementation of anti-corruption policy in Ukraine, thereby ultimately contributing to a reduction in corruption”.

Activities to raise road safety awareness inspire a future generation of potential police officers
In Kyiv today, a new generation of potential police officers were given tips and tricks on road safety by the National Police of Ukraine with support from the EU Advisory Mission. A number of different activities targeted at children from the ages of 5-16 were organised in order to raise awareness about how to keep safe on the road and highlight the attractiveness of a career in the police.
EUAM launches project to strengthen crime victims’ rights
A new project to strengthen legal protections for victims of crime was launched on 11 May by the EU Advisory Mission Ukraine (EUAM). The project was announced at a roundtable discussion in Lviv, bringing together experts on the subject from civil society, free legal aid centres, the prosecution service, judiciary, police, penitentiary system and academia. Similar roundtables will be organised in the coming months in Kharkiv, Dnipro, Odesa and Kyiv.
